Now What?

Hi, everyone.

I have to go back Japan when the semester finishes but I'm going to keep studying English in Japan. There are many exchange students in my university so I'm going to make friends with them. I want to speak English automatically and friqueantly. And I'm going to study about Japan. Because I met some Canadian, who are studying Japanese, Japanese culture and Japanese history. They know many things about Japan more than me. I was shocked it. At the moment I thought I have to study and know about Japan more. Also, I'm going to eat Japanese food such as sashimi, sushi and okonomiyaki. I have been missing them while I have been in here. So I sometimes went to Japanese restaurant in Calgary but it wasn't real Japanese taste.

I have only about 10 days I can be in here.  I miss Calgary!! I had a great time for 3 months. I'm happy I could study English with you. I could have a good experience. Thank you very much.

Ecotourism

Today, I found an article about ecotourism.

I thought ecotourism is good before I studied about it. However, I don't think so now. For the first time, I thought tourists can stimulate a regional economy because if they visit somewhere, they spend a lot of money there.  Also, they can understand about environment. But tourists bring not only advantage but also disadvantage like this article. Also, not only tourists. Human build many condominiums, houses and hotels. So sea turtles misunderstand artificail light and moonlight. In fact, sea turtles is an endangered species. I think it is difficult to be compatible with continuation of regional resouces like nature and achievement of tourism.

Tourism

Hi, everyone!

Tourism is travelling for leisure or business purpose. When people travel to another place for a holiday, they use this especially when you are talking about all the services tourists need such as food, hotels and so on. I think Japan has a lot of tourism because there are many traditional buildings and temples. For example, Himeji castle, Kiyomizu temple and Kinkakuji. Also, there are many beautiful scenery such as sea, hilly district and nature. For example, sea in Okinawa, Shirakami mountains and Yakushima. Tourism has a lot of kinds such as leisure tourism, winter tourism and mass tourism. I experienced leisure tourism when I went to Tokyo Disneyland. At the moment, I use tourism to decide hotel and the Shinkansen.

I'm interested in a travel agency so I want to know more about it.

BIC "Lady Pen"

Hello, everyone.

When I watched the video for the first time, I couldn't understand why audience was laughed. I think this pen isn't special. Also, it isn't for woman. I guess a pen for woman doesn't exist and everyone can use it, so audience was laughing. But I'm not sure exactly. Woman and man can use same pen regardless colors or shape. Everyone have same right without gender. Everyone is equality. I think Ellen talks about like this. But I want to know about the pen exactly.

Gender Roles

What are the responsibilities of a father?
I think a father must work and earn money to support his family. And he should take care of children. If his wife work, he should help with the chores.

What are the responsibilities of a mother?
I think a mother must take care of children. she should take charge of living expenses and save money for children future. She should do housework but if she work, she and her husband should share the housework.

Do parents expect different things from sons than from daughters?
I think some parents expect a school career, and others expect to take over the family business from sons than daughters. They expect that sons rate high in society than daughters.

Is it typical for men to be teachers in your country?
In Japan, both of male and female work as a teacher. But the economy is bad recentry. Men have to earn money so they tend to want to be public employee. Public employee can get a steady income.

Someone is talking about their doctor. Do you think their doctor is male or female?
I think doctor is male and female because both of them can work as a doctor. I think there is no differences between male and female about jobs so people shoouldn't change a way of calling for jobs.

 

Halloween

This year, I cerebrated Halloween for the first time. I went to Halloween party at U of C. The party was very fun. I wore a witch costume. I enjoyed taking many pictures with many friends that wore different costumes. And I enjoyed eating and drinking.

In Japan, people don't celebrate Halloween. But in Kansaigaidai University, many people wear costume and hold a costume contest every year. It is very fun!!!

I like Halloween because I can have an enjoyable time. If I  go to party and wear a costume, this will be very happy memories later.

Going to Extremes: Sports and Obsessions

When I was elementary school student, I began to do karate. My karate instructor was very strict so some students always were crying. I also wanted to escape once in a while. But I knew he advised for me and he was kind person. Moreover, I thought I could grow and be a patient person after I started karate. I liked karate very much. I got hooked on karate so I practised karate everyday. When I took part in tournaments, I was very nervous and felt pressure. However, I was very happy when I achieved victory. This experience was awesome.

Fraud

I think the fraud like this must never happen. A bogus cancer fundraiser should think about the way a person feels which donated. I can never allow them to take advantage of kind people’s personal relationship. I think this conduct is to ride roughshod over person’s feelings. When I read this article, I felt miserable as human. No self-respecting human being could do that.

 

One day, my grandmother got a phone call from a man who calls himself her son. The man said to her he needed money because he had an accident. When my grandmother took a stranger’s calls, she was in home with my grandfather. So she told him about this. My grandfather suspected about the man. He thought the man was not his son. So he called his son, my father, and he understood the man told a lie.

Advertisement for tobacco and alcohol

Hello.

I agree with laws that forbid advertising campaigns for tobacco and alcohol because it is bad for the health. But advertisement has a big influence on people and many people will be attracted by it including the young.

Actually, Japan doesn't allow advertising tobacco because minors from smoking became a social problem. Now, tobacco package is written about caution of health. On the other hand, Japan doesn't forbid advertisement for alcohol. But there are some company that is imposing self-control on it such as a time zone not to show teenager or children.

Introduction

My name is Nao. I'm from Osaka, Japan. I'm 20 years old. I'm a Kansaigaidai university student. My hobbies is reading books, watching movies and listening to music. My favorite singer is Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Hilary Duff. My favirite food is Japanese food, Korean food and Chinese food. I love a dog. I have a Chihuahua in Japan. He is very cute!!!

I'm studying English at the U of C bacause I want to communicate with many foreigners and experience many things.

I'm going to go to Hokkaido with my friend after this semester. I want to eat a seafood meal, noodle and soft ice cream. I'm looking forward to doing!

I want to see an aurora before I go back Japan. So if you know where aurora appears, please tell me!
